Plastic Overshoot Day
By 2040 plastic production is set to double, with plastic pollution expected to triple. In 2023 the volume of plastic waste will overshoot the volume that waste systems can manage on July 28th. By tracking theses dates, the Swiss NGO Earth Action intend to raise awareness and promote sustainable alternatives and policy changes to combat plastic pollution.
